About Us

A long standing Care Home in the heart of the New Forest

Sundial Cottage is a well established, privately owned Care home, situated at the edge of the New Forest National Park. It’s on the South Coast of Hampshire, close to the beaches of Calshot and Lepe and approximately one mile from the Village of Fawley. Sundial is a registered home and complies with all regulations under the Health and Social Care Act 2008, and the inspectorate body CQC.

We are registered for 22 residents male or female. Our Certificate of Registration is for a Care Home for adults over 65, Mental Health conditions, Dementia, physical disabilities and sensory impairments.
We can provide long stay care, respite stay, palliative care and day care.

Our Garden

Private landscaped grounds surround the home. The private gardens provide a safe secure environment to enjoy, with well-maintained flowerbeds, established borders and trees to make the gardens a tranquil setting to relax and explore. Clients are encouraged to enjoy the gardens with the added security of CCTV to give them the freedom to wander and relax without feeling that they need to be escorted by staff at all times.

Activites

At Sundial our residents are encouraged to maintain their skills and hobbies and to participate and express their opinions and wishes in regards to the activities provided. The home employs two staff members who are focussed on activities. Families and friends can view our facebook page to see what is happening within the home.

Care

we provide comprehensive personalized health care and assistance to ensure the well-being and comfort of our residents. Our dedicated team of professional caregivers and medical staff is available 24/7 to offer support tailored to each resident’s unique needs.

Vascular Dementia is an illness requiring vast amount of care and patience, which is what my mother receives at Sundial.

Placing a loved one in a care home is a very difficult emotional thing to do. The staff here are so kind and gentle. My mothers room is always spotlessly clean as are her clothes and person. It is so reassuring for me to know she is receiving the best possible care. Sundial is not a large home, and this helps to create a homely atmosphere where residents are in close contact with each other. Communication is excellent, I know I will be notified of any problems without the need to phone the home endlessly.

When you know the time is right (and should probably have been months before) to place your parent, sibling into a home look no further than Sundial Cottage. The friendly staff and management put us at our easy, understood our concerns and guilt. We felt like failures, felt we had let our mum down. Sundial is a small care home which feels like a home. Food is prepared and cooked on site and the varied meals goes down well with residents. Activities are geared towards the residents, quizzes, tai chi, music, colouring etc. Ideal location, no traffic danger, country lane.
